Unfortunately, I have reached a line, after four fun filled years, that I may have to stop racing.
I will be taking a several month break from racing, to learn to drive a proper car, then buy one, and pay for a very expensive web development course I am going on. If I don't miss racing, then expect eBay to be hosting several hundred pounds worth of RC auctions ![]() Unless, I can be persuaded otherwise. ![]()

Don't do it!
Just think of all the money you have spent, and all the fun you have had. When you ebay the stuff you won't get that money back, and the chance of having more fun is gone.. Then when all things passed, and you get the bug again (cos you will ![]() Best thing to do, is just stop spending, keep you stuff and bring it out when you need to get away from everything. Then when the time comes to jump back in, you may just need new cells - then you can choose to grasp the latest technology at your own time. |

i did that exact thing, sold up to buy other things, only to regret it terribly a few years later!
now i have to buy everything again...my advise is sell things you dont need so much,so if you do decide to have a play again you still have some equipment. coz once you have the bug, you cant get rid of it ! DONT DO IT ![]() |

I think in R/C racing everyone gets to a "breaking" point if you like.....
Looking back i packed up too young really, i had everything going for me racing wise and was still actually enjoying it but at 18/19 decided that real cars, girls and that sort of thing should take priority........ Then here i find myself 4/5 years later thinking damn why did i give up that Factory drive, and why did i not appreciate the help and support i had from sponsors and my Dad? It's easy to not appreciate what you've got or how much you get out of a hobby like this (until it's gone)! The amount i spent on real cars over the last few years could have easily paid for me to carry on doing Nationals, Euro's and Worlds but i just couldn't see it at the time and had to have everything there and then The grass is always greener as they say............ and hindsight is a wonderful thing. Only you can decide if you should or shouldn't give up but honestly, for what it will cost you to start again in a few years at least keep all the essentials that will help you get back into it quickly as i'm sure you will certainly think about it another day! |

simple answer dont do it you will be back
once the dark side of the force has you there is no escaping it. stick it all in a box appart from things like cells and put it in the loft that way when you want to return you have a starting point where you can see what new technology you want or need to get back on pace. i did the exact opposite and have cost myself a fortune in buying new stuff when i started back

buggy is about the driver not the equipment you can buy

I actually think the opposite...
If you want to sell up - DO IT! At the end of the day, hobbies are about pleasure, if you aren't enjoying it, stop. Who knows, when you step away from it for a little while it may clear your mind and you might come back with fresh desire? Or, you may take up a new hobby that you love even more! (I find that hard to believe though, what could be more fun than RC?). |

I done exactly that what you are thinking about it 10 years ago. I sold up and got a big car and started getting into modding etc.. after about 10+ cars and having high performance. I have come back to RC and racing as I did enjoy it and the local club now does off road.
Just do what you think is right.. You may come back to it you may not.. |

no wonder you are having troubles, T2 is synominous for changing from week to week, in it's handling. Ditch it and run that TA05, far more fun, built like a brick shithouse.
If you do want to take a break, pack the gear away, look after the batteries, and try again in a few months, if you still don't like it, flog it..... I sold up and it took redundancy and 7 years and countless thousands to get back.

hmmmmmm.
I am unsure. 50% wants to sell up, 50% says, if I do sell, then want it back.... I would maybe get a buggy if someone could find some clubs that race 2wd or 4wd on saturdays or weekdays ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
