I am getting close to just buying one of these kits even though they are about £180

That's at Tony's parts? I have thought about it, but haven't decided yet on a F1 or Indy shell

Pretty sure the indycar doesn't fit a standard chassis, I'm sure the chassis is longer.

This is taking me back ot when I used to race the Tamiya F1's in the BRCA series and winter series -Brca and Ashby multi formula.

Paint up many F1 replica shells like the Simtec, williams 91, mclaren hakinen, I also did a silk cut jaguar, purple and white scheme. Ad used to do a Pepsi' scheme to challenge Dez Chands 'Coke' scheme. .....never beat it though! lol.
The black Sauber used to be the shell to race though. For some reason the wings were spot on for handling.

We used to use the diffuser to great effect, but it got banned.

Default takes me back

10 x 2 in a f103 at Crystal Palace on a hot Sunday Morning beat the 10th ic ftd . Now I,m getting a bit nostalgic but that was just about the only time that a car of mine felt like one of Martin Brundles extensions of self !!!!! forget the indy for racing I,d get one of those special edition 103s if there was anywhere to race F1

Yep, they did. Only two positions, but most just put them on max downforce and left them.

Hi,

I am posting as i'm thinking about selling my Tamiya F1 car. It is a Benetton B192 - F102 Chassis and comes complete with all electrics needed for it to run. The bodyshell has been cut, but never painted as i was unable to find the right colour for it (Quite honestly i didn't try hard). I have put the decals on to the pre moulded wings, but all the decals for the body are on the decal sheet, nothing is missing.

The Car was never really run much, I had this when i was at school and saved for ages to buy the ESC only to have an accident with a puddle which put an end to my lovely new ESC! Could never afford to fix! Since then i got into 4WD electric and the F1 has lived in the loft!

It's in fantastic condition, i'll upload some pics if anybody is interested. I'm undecided about selling, on the one hand it's working and i could finally get to use it! But on the other hand I have no suitable place to run it and the costs of keeping vintage cars running in the event of accidents, spares etc, outways the fun of owning them. I've learnt this the hard way by trying to keep a vintage Kyosho Inferno, RS200 and Lazer ZX running too! (Think its about time i get shot of these also)

I'm thinking that it depends on how much i get offered for it, I don't really want to sell it for peanuts as it's more worth my while keeping it that way, but on the other hand i'm not looking to fleese people, i've seen them on ebay going for around the £100 mark.

I also would prefur it going to a collector/enthusiast rather than on ebay as i feel it deservs a good home! If anyone is interested please message me with offers.

Many Thanks,
Nick

Ok cool. I've got two at the moment, but want a perfect one for the shelf.

I've got a FA31 with Ferrari body coming and a Lotus 102B.

I'd rather have a nice runner and then have a shelf queen etc.

Ah, i'd love to say that this would make a perfect shelf queen, but it does have a few scrapes along the underside of the chassis, unfortunately although it's only seen about 1 hour or use, it was on tarmac! There is also a tiny (1 - 2mm) split on the side of the nose (Bodyshell, not plastic moulded one).
I realise that from a selling perspective, i'm not doing myself many favours, but i don't want to give a false impression. I'll show everything in the pics though and you'll be able to see for yourself.
