Default Advice on a LIPO Charger

Good evening everybody,

After 18 years of absence and driving an RC10B1 I have come back to the hobby I had to stop since I wasn't making money as a student

Thus I've acquired a RC10B4 and an Xfactory X6 (not squared sadly) 2 months ago and a few Orion NiMh stickpacks.

Since LIPO is clearly the way to go , I'm currently purchasing LIPO's but I only got an NiMh charger.

What charger would you advise a novice like me , keep in mind it will need to take 220V AC since i'm still charging at home for the moment.

Of course i'm not sure what the future brings so I'm looking for a decent Lipo charger that I won't have to sell immediatly when advancing.

Your replies are much appreciated.

Hi Erik,
My money would be (and is) on the Bantam BC6. It is truly a quality piece of kit - capable of charging various batteries and has the added benefit of being both 240v ac and 12v dc input.
It has an integrated balance charge mode which is important.

The Logic RC Elysium LX60B is a good charger also - I've used both and it is difficult to split them apart but I prefer the understated good looks of the BC6.

whatever you decide on - make sure you do your homework with regard to balance leads / plugs and batteries. There is very little commonality between manufacturers in terms of balance plugs and consequently, you may need to think about making sure that a lead is available that will work between your charger and your choice of battery.

Have fun ;-)

I've seen the Bantam popup as a good starter kit at several places so i'll have a further look into that.

And as you stated will definitly do my homework ( r/c school started again
2 months ago for me ) regarding balance leads/plugs and batteries.

Thanks for your advice, any further thoughts from anybody are off course welcome.

There are two versions of the bantam bc6. the dual power version, 12v and 240v, and the one that does 12 only. Just something to think about.
