They certainly WERE NOT legal last year, they were not EB approved, and Lipo were only allowed as a side-line support class with their own list at touring car events, the list was by no means binding for following seasons or the start of the EB list, it was simply for the one class for one season to 'test the water' with what was available then.
The 2009 list is the first list & the only list, you can rest assured by following it when choosing a pack.

But don't cry, old cells are not wasted, as you can run these at club events which for most - me included, is the majority of events attended (and I do have old cells to run). Having to buy another pack or two from the EB list is no sweat as if I was running Nimh I would have spent a lot more in replacing them every 6 months or sooner when they went *kaboom*. I am just grateful we have an EB list now for Lipo's
