restoring files

Hi,
My dad has accidentally placed some photos in the recycle bin, and they have now been deleted. Any way I can help him out and restore them? I have searched the net for answers, and found a couple of programmes that say they can do the job.. any ideas on these?

Get hold a program called On Track recovery.

Great program, can also pull data from failed HD's and knackered memory sticks.
