Just to let you know - money has now been paid to Jonathan (what you sent me) with the remainder due in about 2 weeks time.

Update time

I have just had news from Jonathan that the towers are almost done - ready to post to me for onward delivery to you lot mid/end of next week

Can I have the remainder of your owed money please.

Again, those of you in the UK gift it to me please and those outside can you add a bit on like last time to cover the charges.

You'll also need to add postage onto this payment. I have had a chat with my friendly Post Office worker (I live in a village and she is genuinely helpful!) and I'm going to offer 4 prices in total for postage (2 UK and 2 International Airmail) and these will be 1st class standard postage or 1st class signed for/insured postage. The postage price also covers the cost of padded envelopes (as I can't steal this many from work without getting caught) etc.

Postage prices will be:

UK standard £1, signed for/insured £1.50
Int. standard £3 (insurance included in this one!), signed for £6.

Just one last things chaps, I need delivery addresses from MJX, Robbo145, simoncook and eddie1665

Guy's

Can those of you who haven't sent me the remainder of the money do it ASAP please. I'd like to get it to Jonathan as soon as I can - the quicker you pay, the quicker we get the towers

Ian

I'm at work at the moment and can't check as the spreadsheet is at home.

I'm not really into public naming and shaming but will probably be forced into it soon

I think it is 3 people, but they know who they are

Hey man. I know i said that i wanted to buy the DB01 carbon shock tower, but my funds are very tight at the moment. Could you put one aside for me? I also wanted to know what the price will be in U.S.D. currency including shipping. Thanks. A.J.

AJ, sorry but I can't put one aside for you.

I did contact you privately (email and personal message) and on this thread several weeks ago requesting your deposit but I didn't get a reply. As I would have had to pay it out of my own pocket, when the deadline I had placed onto you passed I'm afraid someone else took your place for the tower.

Jonathan may have some he can sell seperately, I suggest having a look at the Atomic Carbon website.

Thanks for the reply. And i truly do apologize for failing to receive your message. I often forget about receiving private messages on here since for me it doesn't happen very much. I greatly appreciate you and Jonathan going out of your ways to get these towers made for us DB01 owners. If in the future i see them posted on the Atomic Carbon website i will be sure to pick a set up. Thanks again for your time and effort that you helped put in for this. A.J.

Hi All,

Just to let you know the towers are here and all packaged up (complete with some Atomic Carbon stickers for all ).

I should get them posted tomorrow (depending if I finish work early enough) or Saturday.

Ian

All posted

Those in the UK should get them Monday/Tuesday next week.

The rest of you will be a little bit longer.

Steve,

I'm not there tomorrow - I'm recording a CD with the band and will be busy with that all day. I'll bring 'em next time or if you PM me your address and buy me a cup of tea next time I'm at COBRA I'll post them to you.

CA,

Rears because when you use the Tamiya TRF 501X option shocks they are too long and give you far too much droop, causing the drive shaft to drop out of the outdrive. One option used is to run internal limiters but I wanted to do a 'proper job' and contacted Jonathan at Atomic Carbon for a redesign. Another reason is the standard tower is a bit weak and can break when you land upside down.

The rear tower has been redesigned to be used with either the standard shocks or the option TRF ones (the TRF mounting holes are 5mm higher as the picture in post 25 way, way back shows the prototype against the standard tower. If you look at post 30 you'll see them on my car).

I have mentioned to Jonathan about a front tower but haven't gotten around to sending one off to be used as a basis for his design yet but to be honest, it was a hell of a lot of hard work sorting the rear tower out and there really isn't a need to change the front as the TRF shocks are spot on there.

Ian

Arrived today thanks Ian, very pleased with them. Now need to pull finger out and source the necessary ballstuds. After I've rebuilt my Losi. Which will be after I've converted my 3-gear X6 to a 4-gear. Which will be after I've fitted a radio to my car. Which will be after I've flushed the central heating system. Do you see a pattern here .
