Hi All
Thanks to my wife, I now have a 501x. Its 2nd hand, so there are a few questions I have. What servo mounts are worth getting? My car doesn't have any. Looking at it the TBevo4 tamiya hop up ones might work, but are there any tamiya hop-up ones that screw into both holes either side of the servo? Where can you get new bodyshells from? (preferably tamiya 501x or 501x we ones) Is the spoiler the same as the df03 one? I'm sure there will be more soon, as I'm about to strip it down and rebuild it. The last proper buggy I had was a Top force so looking forward to getting to race this soon oh and erm, does anyone have a 501x box they want to sell? |

For servo mounts, I use the Team Associated B4 Factory Team mounts, blue alloy, with two holes for servo mounting.
Bodyshells are available from many places. If you want to source in the UK, try Brock models, , otherwise any of the ebay stores, (Jasons / Stella) etc. should have them. If you're stripping it down, it might be worth you replacing the original screw set with a titanium screw set (I got mine from speedtech in the USA). The orginal screws are pretty poor, and will round off, so make sure you've got a decent driver to ensure you don't strip any when disassembling. Read Jimmy's review, before hand aswell, its excellent. The only other purchase I would recommend is Deuvs / Team Azarashi rear gearbox covers. They are an excellent fit, and a must for running the car in dusty conditions. If you have any other questions, just ask! Chris.

Thanks,
Been informed that the tamiya trf416 servo mounts will also fit, btw. The car already has titanium screws, so that saves me some cash. Also as I intend to race it indoors (bury) will the stabilizers help? Unfortuantely I cant seem to find a shell in the UK, its a shame as I wanted to paint one up this week ![]() Cheers |

I race weekly on a low grip gym floor with the 501X, if you need any setups, just give me a shout - let me know if it's LIPO or NIMH cells you're running, and if you prefer one way or diff. I dont recommend running roll bars, unless you really must (I dont run them), as they mess up the bump handling too much.

Thanks, I'm still going to go for tamiya one if I can.
Does the 501x take long boss pinions? |

you can run either on it, I would say long boss would be better as the grub screw is further up the motor shaft, but totally up to you!
