Exclamation DF-03 Pinion setup help

I am building a Dark Impact and have a Novak 5.5 motor and GTB ESc to put in it. I have the slipper clutch hop up but what should i be running in terms of gearing? The slipper kit comes with an 82 tooth gear and i have a 25 teeth pinion.

Also if the number of pinion teeth goes up does the car get faster?

Because of poor motor ventilation, limited available ratios, the 5.5 is going to get very hot in there. I would start with the smallest optional pinion and biggest optional spur (23T and 85T, if I remember) and check temperatures regularly on the first run.

Get yourself an infrared temp gauge like wot the IC boys use, about £10-15 I think, well worth it to save yourself cooking nearly 2 tons worth of gear.

I have a DF03, but when I decided to go brushless, I wasn't confident on the cars motor position adjustability and cooling, so bought a DB01.

Alas, Good luck
