Just want to say a big big thanks to ALL the MK/Newbury crew for putting on another fecking brilliant meeting!!

Track design is sh#t hot, but make sure you 4WD guys keep that bloody door shut!

Came 1st overall in the C, was happy with that bearing in mind all the top drivers who entered. Really enjoyed battling with Flanders through the 3 finals too (yes, we ALL had 3 finals lol)

A final was a pleasure to watch with Pidge, Craggy, Bloomers etc putting on a stunning display for everyone.

Again, thanks for putting the event on, and feel free to put my name on the list for MK GP'09

Arrow Race Results

For the curious and those wishing to see where it all went wrong, the race results can be accessed here http://www.newburyrcclub.co.uk/raceresults/mkgp08/index.htm

Thanks to all competitors for being ready to race when they were supposed to and (usually) being at their marshalling points on time. This meant we were able to crack on and give everyone two practice runs, 4 qualifiers and 3 finals and still be finished by 18:00

Win or lose, I hope everyone had a good day

Awesome day, really enjoyed it. Shame that slippy was sooooo slippy near the doors, really hard work.

3rd leg of the A was awesome, even though I was marshalling you could feel the tension, great show Pidge, Bloomers, Cragg

Just wanted to say a BIG thanks to all the Mk crew and Tony for his commentary, I had a great time.

It was good to see how it's done by the A final lads, well done to Lee on his win.

Iv had txts from the lads I was pitting with, Rich Baker, Vince, Paul and they all had a great time so thanks from all of them.

It was great to chat to the pro drivers and mechanics and fellow oopler's they were all really friendly and helpfull with set up info etc.

If you have never done the Mk Gp meeting like this book yourself in next year, it's deffinatly worth it!!

Roll on next year! Let us know the 4 wd result!

Was a great days racing, loads of track time and Tony's chat over the PA bring back fond memories!!!

Track layout flowed really well, was technical but still able to race hard on it for the finals. I'd go as far as to say it was the best indoor track i've driven on for many, many years and in a lot of ways more fun to drive than quite a few of the national tracks!
The club work their hearts out to make it a blast for all the drivers and I'm agree with Cosie .... put me down to 09 (or when ever the next event is if sooner).

How come this club doesn't go for the indoor finals???

Gutted to be missing the 4wd due to being called into work .... looking forward to the next event.

I had suggested this to Marc Knight but I think it would be down to the club to go through their regional rep...

Awesome race. Thank you all so much for great day racing. I even got a trophy too (ssshhh... no-one needs to know for what final!).

I got a ton of photos, race report coming one day soon. Got to go get parents from airport tonight, got work during the week followed by lots of learning in the evening, so it may take a week or two.

Yep, it was a good day's racing and incredible to watch the A finalists do their thing. I enjoyed the track layout and the CAT performed very well indeed

One gripe with today is if you allow 'no tyre restrictions' then be big enough to stand by your own rules especially after I checked and was told 'As it says on the flyer the tyres are open so run whatever you like. Cheers, Grant'

A big well done to the club for today, I enjoyed it. Didn't have a result I wanted but it was a result to be expected due to new car/new brushless set up/running out of talent/bad luck/silly table top before the cross over.

Overall, a good day.

And another thing, I dont want to see "that" picture of me plastered all over the net, you know who you are.

Well done, roll on next year

I was chuffed anyway, was actually a fun and close race with another car.

Anyway, I said something on another thread, but think I should say something here.

I am responsible for the flyer. I am however not affiliated with the club really (although I try and make it to the Friday meetings, it's a 45min+ journey) and not associated with MK Racing (I am just a happy customer) but I am friendly with both hence done the flyer. So these comments are just my opinion and not any kind of official comment.

After a discussion with Marc many weeks ago I made the flyer and wrote any tyres. By this, I think we both assumed it meant any make (Schumacher, GRP, JConcepts etc...) and any tread of off-road tyre. It may well be my fault for not mentioning foams, if that is the case I want to sincerely appolgise for that and hope it didn't upset many of you.

I do however totally agree with the organisers decision to not allow foam. It was an off-road race, albeit indoors, and general off-road tyres help level the feild and make the racing fairer and more exciting.

Foams on an off-road car !!!!!

Surely that is like surgically attaching fake tits on a chimp ...... you could do it but it would be oh so wrong!

Would never have considered foams myself for an off-road car so I think your asumption was fair Glypo ....

Wernt foams all the rage back int' 80's or summat?
Not wanting to get involved in anyway (too fecking tired) but the old 'brushed & Ni-Cd' old skool'ers have told me stories of foams on offroaders from moons ago..
