Default B-Max4 Screw Options

Hi All,

The kit comes with phillips head self tappers for everything. I noticed on the pics of Cragg's car that they are hex heads on that, does anyone know where I could get hex head self tappers (if they are chunky enough I'm less likely to damage the heads than with philips screws) or even better if there's a way to use standard thread screws instead of self tappers?

Machine screws should go into the normal holes, if you find it a bit tight get hold of an M3 tap, I know that Much More and TOP Racing both do one.

And try and get hold of some of the "black" steel screws rather than stainless, stainless are a bit softer. I don't know whether anyone is doing a particular kit for them but perhaps one of the many RC screw suppliers could put together a set.

What is the disadvantage of using self tappers?

Pretty much the usual metric, 3x10/12/18/25, maybe some others but nothing too different!

Dave, if you do a full list of sizes and quantities I'll sort you out a stainless kit at a special price.

There appears to be a titanium, hex head, self tapping screw set available in Japan.

I have already built my bmax with the kit self tapping screws.

If I wanted to change to hex screws, wouldnt it mess up the thread that I initially made with the self tappers?

If I was smart, I would of started off with hex's, but I couldnt wait to build it
