I'd probably fit the Associated FT turnbuckles if you get the chance, they're a direct fit.
I bent a lot of kit ones..... but I crash a lot........ so maybe it's just me......

![]() Hi Nathan, if you get an RB5 for the next round and I pop in or race, come over and let's have a chat. The car felt very good, and more to come for sure if I do another round, but I really will be trying to help others, so I don't have too. You should see a few more next round. Take it easy mate Karl Marsden |

Had it for over a week now and finally got a chance to have a play today on a greasy epr. Used sharpys shock setup and guessed at the rest as had the newer rear end on it so went without any weight in the front. Car felt very safe and easy to drive with more than enough steering at all points through the corner even on a very changing track the car felt consistent. shocks were really good as the car felt supple yet had more than enough pack to soak up even the biggest of jumps onto flat. ran it with lipo as well which was interesting as had fun keeping the front end down on the straight even with a loose slipper i could still wheely 2/3rds the way down it without an issue (although i didnt add any additional weight to counteract the lipo) ![]() ![]() am also hoping to run it at worksop as well if i get in for next week

hiya all, had my first race meeting with the ultima a couple of weeks back at rnd 2 of worksop, had nimhs in it as my lipo was in the pred and i was doing both classes, i put 10g on top of the servo to reduce the wheelying to a managable amount and after talking to a very helpful woody went up 5 wt in shock oil on the front (a change i wanted to make after putting a pack through the car after kiddy) then left the car alone as it felt so good, 4th in the first round numptied it in 2 and 3 then a 8th in the 4th to put me 9th in the A first time out, a loose sensor wire put me out of the final but as they say thats racing, thorughly enjoyed the day especialy with how the ultima felt so nice to drive. really safe but with more than enough steering and mid corner pivot that seemed just right to me.
want more time with the car as feel it can stil be improved even though it feels so good at the mo. give me a few weeks and i will post where i am with setup

Hi All,
Good to see you have had the same initial feeling with the car. The more and more guys I chat too are very happy with the RB5, and I think in the past it has just been a matter of a few running the car to show and gain the confidence. Many thanks for the oople support and posative help and feedback to the others, and let's hope it continues to grow. Regards Karl Marsden Kyosho UK |

Just noticed Nathan posted the same set-up here
http://www.oople.com/forums/showthre...?t=3511&page=2 and I responded with my thoughts in post #34. I was the only person running the car at the nationals in 08, which was a shame as the car has real potential. I was never going to be able to show that, 5 years off racing 2wd (at least) and 3 years racing 1/8th rallycross did nothing to aid my 'light touch' on the sticks (probably never had one to begin with .... lol) along with struggling with brushless set-ups and loads of other issues meaning I only picked up the sticks for nationals and 4wd regionals. Great to see support for the car and I think that Woody and Niggs should see it right up there in 09, hopefully with plenty of other too!! RB5, the only way to go IHMO |

Thanks for the warm welcome Dan. Glad to be back.
To be honest I've been totally focused on work for the last couple of months, running a very difficult but important project and had to put a lot of hours in. Not raced in any shap or form since the last national till 2 weekends ago! Sure we'll have some of our normal "debates" over the coming months ![]() |

Are there any news on a complete kit with an upgraded rear end and some proper turnbuckles? I still have the kit turnbuckles on my SP, but I really hate them. I still wonder wether to get an FS or not, but I still do not have a 2wd buggy or stadium truck...

Hi Gurdeep, long time no see!!!
where are you going to be racing? Schumacher yellow minipins all round are the #1 choice for carpet Some people prefer the yellow minispike as it's a lot more forgiving but not as fast. Some clubs use totally different control tires! I can give you a killer indoor set-up for places like Dudley. If I remember your driving from the 1/8th days you like a bit of steering so my set-ups will work well for you mate. You will be needed a few spare sets of springs though. Kit silvers will be ok for the rear (although I prefer a slightly stiffer rear spring at Dudley as it's always mega grippy) Front springs will be either Kyosho lime greens or Losi blacks (with 1.5 coils cut off) |
