Default New 4wd project for X factory?

This is the end of my first season with the X5 and its been one of my most competitive and enjoyable in 20 odd years of racing.
However, the car is based on 10 year old technology and ,although I have no concerns with the availability of spares for the season, I wonder if X factory has any future projects in mind that they can hint at.
I can't see any car on the market that would benefit from an X factory conversion so perhaps a fresh design?
I realise that this is a high risk undertaking but after the current season I have had I would buy a new design from X factory on faith alone.

Comments?........

Its impossible to say really, we have already seen small mods from ellis and BK such as the steering mods and using the CR rear end, the team and company will always be trying new things its just the part of evolution and im sure some of the things tried will be used and some discarded if there is to be a new car.

Like you say what direction could they go i cant see any of the current 4wd cars benefiting from a conversion kit, i think if there was a new car it would be another radical and cutting edge design. Personally i love my X5, i have never had a car go so well over bumps as well as being rapid in a straight line so even if i had to use it till 2010 i wouldn't mind as i cant think of a car i would rather drive right now

Who knows what the future holds for us!!! Right now the X5 is as competative as we have ever been and with the X60 coming out soon we are tied up with development and production on that.

Remember Ellis still TQ'd several nationals and won at least one, so the X5 is still up there amongst the very best.

But please rest assured that the engineers, race team and sales staff are ALWAYS talking about new ideas and always working on new projects, time never stands still with X-factory and there will be lots of exiting new products in the pipeline for 2009 and way beyond............

The other thing worth bearing in mind is that although the first XX4 was out ten years or so ago, the original car was much improved upon by Losi when the Worlds Edition came out later (stronger, lighter, more efficient etc), X-Factory then improved that with the original X5 and then went one better still with the X5 Squared and now with the latest additions of all the E-Speed parts etc have brought it somwhere close to perfection for this platform.

Our car has the efficient drivetrain, albeit improved upon, from the later XXX4 models but retained the legendary handling of the XX4 concept, a suspension geometry package that you now find on MANY of todays other leading 4wd buggies in their similiar design, after all how many front hub and knuckles now resemble that used on the XX4!!!

All of us invlolved with X-Factory are excited about the future and have great things planned for our 4wd to keep it ahead of the rest in all departments for some time to come......

Default WRONG!!!!!

Agent Smith, you must be spying on some other company, because absolutely NOTHING is in C.A.D. at all for anything beyond the X - 60.

This is a very small company, with just one full-time employee, me. I'm not an engineer and my hands are totally full with producing and shipping the current cars, including plenty of X - 5 Squareds, and getting the X - 60 into your hands.

As Ellis and all the Boyz have proved and Darren has pointed out, the X - 5 Squared is ballistic fast, and it remains the easiest-to-drive-fast 4WD on the market. Look at Chris Long's interview in the latest issue of Racer. I think Chris stands by those comments even now.

So Smith, you are flat-out wrong. No C.A.D. period.

Now, do thoughts dance about in our heads about new cars? Please don't make us out to be slugs. Of course they do. Our entire Team communicates literally every day, and they don't talk about cultivating daisys. I can't keep up with all the different ideas we kick around. Heck, we already have ideas to improve the 60, and it's not even out yet!

We have said that the X - 60 will be our last Conversion Kit. When there is a next car from X Factory it will be the whole shebang -- that's an huge undertaking. Give us a break -- we've got to get the 60 out and go through Christmas sales. I'll take a break between Christmas and New Years, then it's into racing again with the CRCRC MidWinter, Cactus, Indoor Finals, it just never seems to end.

Then we'll see what we do.

We will announce several new Team drivers in the very near future, and not just in U.K. All of them have signed on to drive the X - 5 Squared in 2009. There certainly will be no entire new car from X Factory for over a year. We've got the three fastest cars out there right now!

I was making reference to Chazz's comment.
In fencing, touché (French: touched, Pronounced Too-shay) is used as an acknowledgement of a hit.

It's great to see the principal of a business put someone in their place rather than let a false statement go unanswered.

There have been several designs that have come out since the X5 first hit our shores yet it still is one of the cars to beat. Ellis is still driving one and more to the point so will I next season.
While this last bit of information may seem unremarkable let me explain.
I have a habbit of changing my car at every chance, my record is four different chassis in one season, so if I am prepared to stick with just one its going to have to be good to make up for my lack of talent.
My car will the same as last season: the X5

This being so perhaps chazz will not mind if I/we clamour for the next "New math" and will realise that I/we believe when it comes it will be worth the wait.

I race against Steve most weeks and must say that the X5 must be quite good as he actually managed to keep up with me this season!

when all my stuff got stolen I got the chance to borrow several brands of cars and give each one a good thrashing. I could have chosen any brand and model of car but I really could not find a car that I felt I could go quicker with and more importantly more consistant. I think that says a lot for a company when a privateer chooses to go back to a company when they could go anywhere
