Default About X6 CVD Modification

Hi everybody from Spain.

I have found this MIP axles #1042 MIP CVD™ Axle for Losi Cars and Trucks and i wonder if it will fit on my X-6 like Bk2 axles, because they are difficult to find.

Also you talk about the spacers and i have found Losi Bearing Spacer/Axle Washer Set LOSA9941 and LOSA3016 what of those fits on my X-6?

Thank you.

It is the A3016 that you would use, but only on the A9986 BK2 axle (which is longer and is what allows us to space it inward to "push" the dogbone a little further into the diff outdrive to let us run a little more droop without fear of it coming out)

As far as I know the standard Losi CVD axle wont offer any benefit since it is no longer than what we already have.

Hope that helps

Darren

DMS is correct. Standard losi axle is identical to B4 axle, I measured some for the same reason last night

The AE outdrives used on the X - 6 are a smaller diameter than the Losi outdrives, so the end of the Losi bone is too large and will not fit at all. You must use the AE bone.

We are working on the problem of no more BKII axles. Horizon is out and will have no more, which I find incredible. I know they were selling very well, with at least one customer buying several dozen every month...

Chazz, are you having a new axle made or shortening the arms?

Quick fix is having M.I.P. produce more axles for us.

The lack of BK2 axles is the only thing stopping me from buying an X6 .

Hi again from Spain!

Believe when i tell you, you don't need the bk2 axles, you need an X-6

I have used it first time this weekend in my first race with it, and i have make TQ and Win.

It's awesome, easy to drive and very fast!

Oh, and the fact I just tripped across a Wii Fit between typing my last post and just now, so thats Ł69.99 off my "new car fund". B*gg*r it.

When you sort the axle situation out will they only be available in limited quantities? If so will I need to keep checking the site to see if they are in or do you have an email notification system?

Given the 9986 GenII (BK2) axle is so hard to find, has anyone tried the Losi universal axle, LOSA3031?

Problem is, I don't know if the matching Losi buggy dog bone (LOSA3089) is long enough. There's a truck dog bone too (LOSA3091), but that may be too long!

Anyone tried this?

Cheers,
Scott

The end of the Losi bone won't fit in the B4 outdrive, unfortunately, and there's no AE bone (That I know of) that will mate with a Losi universal.

There are ways to adapt other axles to fit an X-6.

Also tried it with the Losi universal and it is also is able to fit. But you'd need to remove some material from the arm to make room for the universal.

Thanks guys. I have an old set of Losi bones so I may crack out the dremel and see what happens!

Anyone know where the 9986 axles might be in stock? Paul, does X-Factory have them? Can't find them on the web site.

Cheers,
Scott

My sources tell me that they aren't quite ready yet Scotty. DMS racing will be the first stockist in the UK to get them, I'm sure Darren from DMS will pop a post in here soon to let you know when they'll be available

No, we currently don't have any, as Horizon has discontinued them and our stock is out. As stated above, we're working on a source for some more, but I don't know what the latest is on that. I'll see what Chazz says next time I talk to him; I'm sure he'll post on here if there's any update on our end.

Appreciate the fast response guys. I'll keep an eye on the thread in the hope they are available again soon. It's the only thing holding me back from getting an X6! In the meantime I'll look for an alternate fix. Where's that dremel?

Cheers,
Scott

The alternative fix is to get someone to drill your stock axles further out. I think it's 2mm but someone can confirm.
