Default Mamba Monster ESC will work with a Novak HV motor?

I'trying to "electrify" a Kyosho 777 SP2 and accidentaly burned the ESC that comes with the Novak HV 6,5 kit (posted a couple of monthes ago).

Now I'm looking for a new ESC to finish the job and found out a good deal with a new Mamba Monster ESC.
Because the Novak HV motor has a sensor cable on his back (that has to be plugged to the Novak HV ESC) : do you think it will work also with a Mamba Monster ESC that doesn't have that connector??

That is the setup I'm running (well in fact a 5.5). You'll have no problems at all.

Good to know!!!
So that cable is pretty useless if you use the engine with another ESC!!!

What batteries are you using? I'm also wondering if I'll be able to use the Mamba Monster ESC with 2 pack of Orion 4500 (Nimh) together: I know lipo is better but I already have those batteries and I'd like to use them for start...

I just leave the cable coiled up for future use.. I am (in that buggy) using a MaxAmps 5000HV 4S lipo. A good blend of size/weight and performance. I would recommend Lipo over NiMH. They are lighter (2 NiMH packs weigh A LOT) and give better run time and more volts

I know such a battery would be the best, when I'll go for Lipo I'll get yours or something like that, but just to start I think I'll try with my two Nimh.

How does it work to connect two batteries?? I have no idea how to connect them...

I guess you just wire them in series as the MMM has only 2 input leads (unlike a Novak HV that has 4)?

Wiring them in serie means that I have to connect "Batt1 -" with "Batt2 +"?
Than I'll connect "Batt1 +" and "Batt 2 -" to the MMM?
But will I need an external BEC in this case (like the diagram I attached)?

Sorry but I want to be 100% sure of what I'm doing to avoid frying the ESC!!!
