Kind of an unofficial, fun thing.

Any comments?
Hi Chazz,

You're probably the most frenchiest US guy

It could be the best idea of this summer i've ever heard

Cheers

Haha think how bad Lee's car would look with a YELLOW wing.....

I think the best thing would be to give the current Championship leader (at the start of the day) Either Yellow Number stickers, or Red ones (Like in Motocross the World Championship leader has a Red plate) - That's enough of a difference surely?

I just think Yellow wings are only going to look ok on a few cars, but mostly not so good.......

As Chazz said, wearing the yellow jacket is an honor and the guy inside may dislike yellow color as a yellow wing doesn't fit with bodyshell colors

could just paint all their skin with bright yellow house paint, then the BRCA provide (free of charge) a chemical paint stripper for the removal at the end of the day

DO I HAVE TO THINK OF EVERYTHING??

I don't know about anyone else but i always hated driving a car if it looked crap or the wing was an odd colour (i.e when you borrow one etc) so i think it would put people off...

I vote for Yellow number surrounds with Black writing, or Red with White writing (MX Style)

one snag with a yellow wing. Wouldn't be very individual because there are alot of guys running yellow shell colours.
I'm with nick on the coloured plate backgrounds. red like in the ama lites class

I hope we're returning to the point instead of the usual BS that makes most forums disgusting wastes of time.

The point here is whether to have some sort of unofficial system whereby the current points leader carries an identifiable honor. At the Tour, the fact that the jacket is yellow may be "gay" to some, but everyone who follows cycling knows exactly what it means and I guarantee you everyone who has ever worn it did so with the utmost pride in accomplishment.

Those who disdain it for whatever reason probably do so from jealousy.

So, if it's different colored stickers, or a yellow wing, or purple wheels, or a glow-in-the-dark antenna tube (Brian's glows his turquoise color) the point here is to have an identifier for the leader. And the question is: Should there be such an identifier? If the answer to that question is, "yes," then we can set about figuring out what it should be.

This idea is actually Ellis' and he did it on his own. Realizing that Southport was the same weekend as the Tour, and realizing that he night wrap up the Championship there, he painted a yellow wing and put it in his pit box. (On reflection, he says he will paint it a different shade of yellow for next time.) It looks ugly with his scheme, but it identifies the leader just like in the Tour.

At the end of A - 2 Ellis knew he had it wrapped up, so he installed the yellow wing. I think that some sort of identifier is a great idea, and having something that connects with the Tour's famous identifier is good. I have encouraged Ellis to keep it at Stotfold, but the choice is his.

And I think Ellis' regular blue wing, with its custom decals, is major. But I also think he may have started a cool tradition. All traditions were started sometime by someone...

I think its a really good idea Chazz

I know not everyone will agree that the yellow wing will look "cool" but something like a different colour number or a styled number 1 on the wing end plates might be cool.

I like the different coloured numbers idea, but I tried to get a numbers rule through the BRCA rules last year but it didn't get passed.

we have to run the BRCA round ones

nothing ever stays fully on topic chazz it not fun other wise

I like the red numbers idea that’s cool

Yellow wing is a shit idea it needs dropping now any fool could paint a wing yellow and say oh i won a championship

Where as the red stickers if they where done by the BRCA any only sent out to the previous years champion with there new licence in the post then it would make it every unique even if it was just a batch of numbers 1-10 in red for the driver to use when seeded in his heat at every round

is it true then, that the leaders in the Tour de'France when they wear the yellow jersey turn gay then?? is it just for the day.... or life lol

But realisticaly, the champ should have his own coloured number, that would be cool.

I like this idea with the yellow wing, how about expanding the idea and having a different coloured wing for the top F2,3,4,5.
