I am planning to use a KO Propo PDS2123 FET servo.
It is rated at 7.2v and has a blue wire that hooks up to the battery's positive lead. Any problems running a 7.4v lipo pack with this 7.2v servo? I ran a 7.4v lipo pack with a Tamiya TEU101BK esc (which is rated for 7.2v) It worked great but it died on me after a few months. Not sure if the 0.2v difference was the culprit or not. But that's quite an inexpensive esc to replace versus a PDS2123. Any inputs or experiences? |

Also when we charge out NIMH cells they dont stop charging at 7.2v they are always about 8.5 ish volts and a lipo cut soff at 8.4volts so it shouldnt be a problem.

What I am trying to say is that 7.4V LiPos are totally fine in any 7.2V application. |

According to my charger my cells peak off at 9.4volts of something like that get the old volt meter out ther eonly about 8.5. And a lipo stops charging at 8.4 volts so yes as said its fine.

I thought most servos were made for 6.0 v, some Futabas are even 4.8 v. And doesn't the ESC reduce the output for servo and receiver to 6 v?
("built in BEC")

Most servo's are 6.0v, but some FET servo's have a 4th lead that connects directly to the battery, hence 7.2v.
I've used a 7.2v KO 2123 with Lipo with no problems, I've also used it with 5 cells (6.0v) and it was also fine ![]()

This is the 'pressure' or voltage on a closed 'container' circuit, once it starts flowing that 'pressure' will go down a little. |

Thanks for all the replies.
Great point about the peak voltage issue ![]() Ok, I can use my 2123 with ease of mind now. |
