Default ESC cooling fan - for novak gtb

Hi, I've just received an excellent gtb/5.5r setup from ebay from the USA -- however in transit a few of the blades were knocked off the cooling fan. Bummer!

Might anyone out there have a spare fan or perhaps one off a dead esc that they'd be willing to part with cheap?

Thanks!

I think the spec is a 30mm x 30mm x 6mm fan that runs on 5V. I suspect that it might be a pretty common electronics part.

Any help's appreciated - thanks!

Ty

the novak standard clear fan is terrible, the baldes fall off all the time. Better to replace it with a "Much More Racing" 30mm fan. These are around £6 from your local hobby store and are much more reliable. They also spin faster so move more air over the speedo.

There is a 25mm replacement fan from Novak that comes with the plug already installed and it's much more sturdy, I now run them on both cars.

I have dozens of old PC fans that I would be happy to sell for a couple of quid if they are of any use to anyone.

They are bigger though, approx. 60x60x10mm nominal voltage 12v, although they do run at 5v, they run a bit slow, run nicely at 7.2v

Default Novak GTB fan

I got tired of replacing the fragile stock fan on my GTB, so I made a batch of these more robust, high flow fans.
  • Ball bearings
  • High flow for better cooling
  • Short leads
  • Fits GTB without modification using stock screws

US$14 each shipped to the UK. If you would like to include a screw kit as shown, add US$1.75. PM me for PayPal information.

Will definately keep these in mind if I decide to have a bash at a homegrown hovercraft project!

Yeah, 60*60, how on earth can you fit that on top of a speedo?

CML have a few, £2.29 as well so quite cheap, it is 7v so it would be a bit slower than a 5v but at that price you can't complain. Here is a link

I have recently bought one a from a shop and they seem pretty good.

Well unless it then overheats because it's not getting cooled enough......

Yes but he is the LEGEND, his car runs for precisely 5 mins and 22 secs before it overheats and cuts out
