another question...

it appears that schumacher yellow minipins are a popular choice, but could people post what OTHER tyres seem to work on the track? 2wd/4wd/front/rear...

ps - what's the wear rate like, and what are worn tyres like on the track too? and what tyres would be suitable when it's wet (heaven forbid)?

cheers all!!
We also used to run Schum minispikes at Kampenhout. They had the advantage that they had more grip when you wandered off the racing line but in the end, we found the minipin more consistant and - above all - last longer.

Slightly worn minipins work OK (especially in 4wd) as long as you don't wander off the racing line. I personally don't like completely fresh minipins at Kampenhout. I run new tyres for 5 minutes in pratice before I use them during the race, but this is a personal preference. Others will disagree.

For wet weather : Ballistic minipin pink or green. The green works better when the track is drying out after a shower, put in general pinks are the safest bet in wet weather.

Front : Schum staggered rib yellow in 2wd AND 4wd (believe me : it works)
In wet weather : Ballistic minipin pink both 2wd and 4wd

That's AWESOME info here ! Thanks Stefke.

Some :
how about foams ? Blue Schum, Losi White ? Super_Dan told me here to NOT use them on the 2wd fronts...

About those Staggered for the 4wd : do you cut the rim to make it narrow or you just stretch the tyre ?

Can't wait the GP

I use a mix of Losi firm or schum blue inserts. No inserts in the front tyres

Staggered ribs at the front in 4wd : I cut the rims to make them narrow and cut of the bead of the tyres.

BTW : Cut and shut tyres are no longer allowed this year so I sometimes use schum minipin 4wd front tyres at the rear stretched on a wide rim (4wd only).

For those who got in: a little taste of what you'll be enjoying at the GP:
