Default 10th Buggy's at macctrack??

As anyone been over to the new macctrack (http://www.macctrack.org.uk/) yet with their buggy's?. Been looking for some midweek racing for a while and emailed them yesterday. Got a reply saying they race them every club night and they've also got a challenging layout for em.

Sounds good to me so gonna head over there tomorrow, but not seen it mentioned on here tho so just wondered if anyone had been since it re-opened a few weeks ago.

Cheers.

I will mention the positive. So on the positive side, Trevor Yapp (the supporting shop) is a great person and I wish he'd come supporting off-road more as he is a value to anything he is involved in. The track is (was, at the old venue) excellent for tourers, 12ths, mardaves and 18ths which is what the club is focused on providing for. The facility is well prepared.

I last went in December 2006 and wasn't thrilled, but its unfair for me to go on as it is very likely to have changed a lot by now, edit: especially now the venue has changed, if it is anything like the 1st venue which burnt down it is awesome!

Be aware though, you will be asked to blunt your towers so the carpet isn't damaged if you roll. I put some lexan loops over the bolts so the car would skid on its roof and not hook in...... the club is unfamaliar with this 3d voodoo. (joking, Trevor is familiar)

Let us know how you get on.

Chris

I've been there twice with b44 now, the track has moved from where you would have visited chris its now in macclesfield - before was in stockport. I've seen both and this is big improvement. The lads to be fair have done an excellent job with the space they have and it deserves to be well supported so it can continue, the pits and facilities are excellent and well presented. The track is very nicely done permenatly fixed to floor, not huge, but has several jumps doubles, table top , rumbles which go down for the buggies and 1/18th's micros. They are put away for tourers and 1/12th's. There is a video on their website but don't think it shows the jumps. Myself and bro are goin again 2morro night. Its well worth a visit for midweek racing.

i have not had to do any work on my car to be allowed to race - they have been most accomodating to the offroaders and micros

Hi David,
Thank you, I have made some small edits to my first post to suit. Please take some pictures, I am interested! Looking at the news pages it looked like the same Stockport venue as I visited, my bad.

Oh, okay. Well i thought it was only fair for the towers to be blunted as any damage would potentially spoil the venue for the tourers. There was always a lot of effort put in at the 1st venue, Stockport and I have no doubt that this new venue will be immaculately prepared.

Please pass on my regards to Trevor.

Will do matey. I will ask them to put pics of the track set up for offroad on the website as i'm sure it would attract more 1/10th there, there isn't much round here that caters for offroad with jumps. I normally end up goin to southport. Its nice to have somewhere to go midweek. I'm certain there are people from surrounding areas that would come.

Me included, if it proves more suitable than the Stockport venue. But want to see the pictures and Colins opinion first...

I wasn't sure if they raced buggies until today so i think pics of the offroad layout and also the info
in this thread may be very helpful.
It sounds good, especially for midweek. It's about 30 miles away i think Chris from our end, but i got an early finish tomorrow so I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the info David, i'll see you tomorrow.

What tyres are people using for 2WD 1/10th off road at Macctrack?

We used to use mini pins at South Lakes, but have now moved to Dirt Hawgs because they're less hard on the carpet, they're not very consistent though, so we're considering alternatives.

I can't imagine yellow Minipins being hard on the carpet. Thats what id use, but then again I think the track is more suitable for 18th scale than 10th.
