One quesstion why do cars have the hinge pin brace on the bacl on the wishbones because the x6 the xx4 and the x5 both have one on the rear could someone exsplain to me why as if you are going to catch the wishbone your gerenrally going to need one infront ofthe wishbones? Im not questioning it im just wondering why?

On an X6 it's becasue there is no room in front of the pivot pins as that's where the motor is

Well as you say, if a wishbone is hit backward you want the a 'brace' to stops the pins opening at the front so a brace would be in tension and at the rear in compression to stop the pins closing. As long as a car it designed to with stand the forces there is no problem.

On the X6 the whole of the thick part of the chassis where the pivot pin mounts screw in are across the front of the pins and the existing rear toe in mount/brace has now been beefed up over what it was originally.

Does that answer your quesion?

Yeah no dangers, Glenns shims are ace. There is nothing wrong with the old braces, I don't think I've ever broken one but could be wrong. They've been beefed up with the truck in mind and common parts.

Yeah, you guys might not care much, but testing the truck over here our first prototypes were eating the old-style toe-in bars for lunch. The extra leverage provided by the long truck arms just snapped them right off, sometimes without any real sort of a wreck. So the bars were beefed up some.
