Default KF2 slipper shaft spacer/bearing binding?

Bear with me...

I'm trying to stop the slop in the slipper shaft by ensuring the bearings don't move in their housings. I used a thin strip of teflon tape in the transmission housing to stop the slop.

Thing is, when the hearings are not free to move in the housing, they bind in the last quarter turn of the lower side gear.

I measured the forward transmission bearing spacer and found it to be 20.20mm.

I ground it down to 19.65mm and it seems much better with no binding when tightened down on the lower side gear.

I now have no slop at the slipper shaft and a nice free feel to the bearings on it when assembled.

Anyone else found this when they assemble the fwd transmission housing?
