locations around Northampton to practice ?

Being relatively new to carpet racing and my car I want to use it more than I am and get some time practising with it as my only time is on Tuesday club night's.
Ive been looking at trying to find a tennis court or hockey pitch type surface I can just spend some time on but understandably most of these are locked up
Any suggestions ?
