Default Front wheel fitting issue....

Just finished my 503 build and what a build...top quality as ever from trf.

One issue I have come across is with the front wheels. I have decided to stick with the 10mm hexes as I was needing to buy new rims anyway so I got some Concepts B44 rims with 10mm drive hex.
Fitted one side fine (didn't realise the hexes are almost push fit in the wheels!) but the other side is a problem.
Fitted the hex into the wheel, put pin in drive shaft and offered wheel up. Tightened nut which went tight then sort of clicked round and it was loose again and then tightened again, problem is that is now binding on the steering knuckle.
I also notice that there is about 3mm of thread protruding from the nut on this side whereas the other side the nut is almost flush with end of thread.
It's almost like the pin has been forced deeper into the hex so wheel is forced up against the knuckle.
What have I done wrong, any advice?
