Build query TM2 V2

I’ve moved back to the TM2 and brought a V2

Question – I have a tight spot / notch between the crown gear and the diff. I’ve shimmed the diff and the drive shaft as per the manual, but keep getting a spot on the crown gear where it binds.

I’ve removed it, cleaned it and can’t see and damage, I’m confused.com

Any Ideas what I could try?
