Trf501/2/3-credible 4wd club racer

Looking for something a bit different to run in 4wd class at my local indoor club and wondered if a tamiya is a worthy contender?
Most people run associated, losi, xray, yokes, Durango, Schumacher but I want to be different! It's either tamiya or kyosho.
Not after a car that is fragile and needs constant tinkering, just want to switch on and run!
Any thoughts appreciated
