Default Motor height - Why so high?

I've been really enjoying the B-max 2, but I've been wondering why they've made the motor so it isn't sat low on the chassis? Instead there's at least a 2mm gap between the chassis and the motor! Although that doesn't sound much, that's quite a big when you think about the weight of the motor.

Just wondered if there was any technical reason behind it? The DEX210 is the same.... a member at my local club has actually slotted his motor mount so it sits that much lower!
