Default pink wheels!

Last night I put some rims in Aldi's own-brand Acetone to remove the tyres.

Just tried to remove the rubber and it literally fell off. 2 problems though:

1) They now smell of coconut fragrance.
2) They are now pink

Problem number 1 isn't too much of a problem, but is there an efficient way of re-whitening them or preventing them turning pink in the first place?

Was thinking about offering them to Gui for his 22 but they are the wrong shade of pink
