This one has been on the shelf in bits for a long time. Bought from the USA, I took a chance on it. The chassis is an "A" stamp and I think it was used as an on road car judging by some of shells that it came with. The car wasn't stock - had different turnbuckles but a nice alloy steering crank. I stripped it completely and got some parts reanodised (brace tubes and shock bodies). All plastics were generally in good condition and cleaned as best as possible, but a few stubborn stains remain. I also bought a new set of gold chassis screws.
So I finally started the build last weekend (with wife's permission of course!) ![]() Front end ![]() Photocopy of manual. Having rebuilt a lot of cars I found this manual to be rather cumbersome and unnessarily wordy. More instructive diagrams would have helped. ![]() Constructing rear diff. This was lubed with copious amounts of grease! ![]() ![]() Back to the chassis...diff installed too. ![]() ![]() Fast forward...most of the build is complete now. I had Pargu wheels that I reanodised in a matching gold. Front tyres are hot laps and rears are Schumacher. The knock offs are from Rogue Elements. The electrics included a reedy mr K, Novak T4 tempfet, ko propo fm receiver and a futaba servo. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() New shell ready and some decals to choose from. Didn't go mental with the decals on the shell. I wanted to keep the minimalist look! ![]() ![]() ![]() All done! I'm happy with this build. The aggressive look really appeals to me...I will tidy the electrics at some point. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
