Default 210 rear-mounted shocks

I've read that maybe the V.2 210 will have the shocks mounted at the back of the rear wishbones, and that some people are already either 'flipping' the kit wishbones to accomplish the same thing, or drilling new holes for the shocks without flipping the wishbones over.

The thing is, what difference do people notice in handling? and has anybody (yet) been rear-ended and suffered damage to the shocks as a result?
