Default Barrows new site - Astro track

The Barrow club has secured some land as permanent site for an astro track! The aim is to be finished in time for next years regional round but hopefully will be running a bit before then.

This is the track and car parking area. It's just a bit bigger than a rugby pitch giving us room for a huge track, permanent rostrum and ample room for parking/pitting. There's a massive storage container on site already and we have just cleared a path to build an entrance. Practically the whole area is hardcored already and just requires a bit of landscaping to make it into an off road track. Drainage is excellent. The pictures doesn't really do justice to the size of the area we have.

The only access to the land was through someone else's land so we set to work making our own entrance. The most suitable place unfortunately was hiding behind a hedge and bramble growth 6-8ft high and 30ft deep! That wasn't going to stop 4 barrow lads with 2 machetes and rake lol and a 7am start saw the lot cleared by dinnertime.

Next up is to hardcore the entrance and build a permanent gate ready for the astro delivery.

There will be more updates for anyone interested in following the building of the venue in due course and of course any advice, tips and comments are welcomed.
