Default Track Maintenance Weekend - No Racing 21st April

The track will be closed the weekend of 20/21st April for track maintenance and preparation ahead of the 4WD Regional on the 28th April. This means no racing on Sunday 21st April.

To date we have tried to carry out maintenance and improvements on non racing days (Saturdays and Bank Holidays) plus a lot of work undertaken by a few during the week but we need more help. We have a backlog of work we have to do before the first regional at the end of the month just to ensure safety such as repairing the ditch behind race control and fencing. But of more interest to most of us as racers is we want to make a great track even better by building great new features like the corner table top we now have. I did hear a couple of comments on Sunday that the track was too fast, too much like a touring car track, needed more features. We agree and this was always a temporary layout to allow us to race for a couple of weeks before we rebuilt and here is your opportunity to help resolve that!!

We would like as much help as possible between about 9.00am and 3.30pm each day. Not expecting anyone to be there the whole time. If as many as possible could give up a couple hours either day that would be really appreciated.

Chris SS has offered to be foreman and allocate us into teams of work most appropriate to our skills and abilities. We are also all in varying states of physical fitness and many of us have various broken or damaged parts on us (just like my K1 after Sunday!!) so if you are not able to lift heavy stuff, just say so and Chris will allocate you to the lightweights section with me and we can do stuff like repairing the fence or tidying race control.

It would be really useful if people could reply to this thread when and for how long they will be able to help, e.g. Sat AM, Sun PM etc so we can get some idea of how to organise the work before we all arrive and make best use of the time.

As an added incentive (as if you needed any more incentive on top of helping build the best RC track in the UK ) those who do turn up and help will also be rewarded with some tyres in appreciation of their help.

Cheers

Rob
