Question Lazer Handling Woes

Hi all,
I’m new to the Lazer having picked up one (an FS2 SP) in the autumn and only raced it a couple of times.
A few issues I am having are all shock & spring related:
I think that the pistons with the car are bit pants, I checked to see what was fitted ( got the car second hand by the way ) and they were both 5 hole, the rears were just too hard and the front seamed too jumpy or over sprung, I have been using 30wt in the rear and 45wt in the front.
As for springs - well I used the kit springs and the car was pretty much un-driveable, then got some kyosho gold rears and orange fronts, this made the car much better but was a tad lively and found I could not push hard. This week I tried some Losi springs - Black at the front and pink at the rear = car was poor, then I put some Red springs on the rear = car a bit better but its still not sharp on the track like say my Bmax is - that is so much better through the corners.
Any advise an experienced Lazer driver can offer I would be grateful - I am running the car indoors on a mixed polished floor with carpet (York to be exact) I have been using mini pins - thinking mini spikes would be better as the car has been snapping on occasion when coming off the carpet onto the main floor = not good really…
Also what are the best tapered pistons to use that are a direct fit, since kyosho don’t have any as I have just put some yokomo ones on to see and they are a tab loose between the e-clips ?
Cheers - Rob.
