Transmitter as game controller?

This question popped up in my head a while back when I saw those USB connectors that VRC (and some aftermarket brands) sell to make your transmitter/receiver into a game controller for VRC Pro... I don't use VRC Pro (they don't have buggies yet ), but I think it would be pretty cool if I could use my transmitter for other games.

So that's pretty much my question... Has anyone succesfully used their transmitter on other Racing games as well?
