Quick question (electrics placement)

Hi guys,

Just finishing off my 410v3 build and have a few electrics placement questions. I pride myself on having a neat car, i'm fairly good at it but this is a tougher challenge than most.

I'm noticing on most pictures that people angle there motor so the wires make contact underneath the driveshaft and are extremely short, is this the most popular root?

Also, who uses the small plastic pad + aerial mount that comes in the kit? There a couple of nobbly bits on that makes it get in the way, was thinking bout just getting rid of this and using my own aerial mount.
