Futaba 3GR?

Hello,

I'm considering buying a Futaba 3GR transmitter. I was wondering if it came with a crystal module, or whether they were fixed at 27mhz, 40 mhz or 2.4ghz?

I'd really like a 2.4ghz set, but I can't afford it right now. I was wondering whether to buy a 40mhz set now, and then upgrade to a 2.4ghz module when funds allow?

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Also, I noticed that they also offer a synthesised version? As far as I know, this is when you can select any frequency from the 40mhz range, without making crystal changes? I'm not sure if I like the idea of this. Is the receiver larger than a standard one?
