Default Worksop round one report - 14th Oct 2012

The opening round of the Schumacher Indoor Off Road Masters at Worksop had over 200 entry requests - many of which had to be turned down. With around 170 drivers however it was still a packed event with some of the UK's top drivers in attendance as is usual for Worksop.

In 2WD Neil Cragg dominated after an early surprise rear-motor TQ run by Greg Williams and his Schumacher Cougar SVR. In the final however, a mistake saw Nathan Waters Durango pass for the lead. Cragg looked just as fast as he had in qualifying - and Nathan was doing all he could to protect his position. The worlds cleanest driver - Cragg - eventually fell to the pressure of waiting and clipped the rear of Nathans car sending them both spinning and allowing Paul Bradby through for the lead which he held to the line. Once again Cragg could simply not pass Nathan Waters and had to settle for 3rd behind the Durango man.

4WD was a dominant qualifying performance from Schumacher - with Tom Cockerill taking round one and Simon Moss walking away with the remaining qualifiers.
In the final however it was Schumacher Team Mate 'Greg Williams' who was really piling on the pressure and looking for a way past Simon. Eventually the pair came over the big jump together and Greg stole an inside line - but the next corner Simon forced his way back past as Greg was forced wide and dropped down. Simon held onto the lead to the line with Neil Cragg second and Greg Williams third.
