Default Going from stock 96T spur to AE 87T spur

I was curious as to what you will achieve by running the smaller diameter spurs on the TRF501X. The track I run on is roughly 70ftX120ft. About a 90ft straight, but there is a huge quad that when you come out of a bowl you have to line up and take the bowl kind of high, compared to other drivers in a Losi XXX-4(with a Novak 7.5). Who can blip it a few feet before the first jump and clear it. I am running a 5.5 20t pinion 96T spur. Will the 87T spur give me more torque? If I go to the 87T spur, should I bump up a few teeth on the pinion? Thanks in advance.
