The stock pistons are already 6 hole, so to get less than 6 holes, you have to glue or melt holes shut. The stock pistons are plastic and molded, so the fit and smoothness in the shock isn't as good as Nick's machined delrin pistons. Smoother shocks work better. Also, Nick's are tapered on the bottom which should, theoretically, give a faster rebound action.
He is still making them, and you CAN request blanks. He's working on shipping my order of 24 pairs of blank pistons, with 6 dimples to show where to drill the holes. I'm going to keep about half the order for myself, and sell off the rest to local racers who also run Durango cars here in the States.
