Aluminium to make 8th chassis

Is it feasibly possible to make an 8th buggy chassis at home?

What sort of aluminium would you need? - I have read that it is 7075-T6 etc. on the top end chassis's. Is it a) possible to buy it in small hobby sized sheets and b) is it possible to cut with 'normal' tools?
