Default Ideal side of car for diff screw head ?

Just rebuilt diff in my X2C (2nd time since i bought it), i seem to remember the 1st time when i re-assembled the car that the nylock nut/holder protruded out enough as to prevent full suspension compression due to the driveshaft hitting it, i had to flip the diff around which fixed it (not really sure why, lol)

This time round i've got to the point of putting the diff back into the g/box but have forgotten which way round it was in prior to pulling it apart, lol.

I just wondered if anyone has had this issue & which side of the car people have the diff screw head, i think i last had mine on the nearside (slipper side) ?
