Hi Guys,
Well my Optima Mid arrived at my parents house in the UK and a friend just brought it over last week to me in Oman.....wow ![]() The box is mint. The instructions and inner box card are mint, no creases, tears, grease, just like they came out of the box. The front bumper is brand new, no marks whatsoever Wheels and tyres are mint The car is basically immaculate, I assume it has run once on carpet many years ago before being put in the loft. It also came with 2 sets of Kyosho wheels with trued foams on. The bits which I'll replace are: Chassis - the original is good but has a few scratches Then there's the mods the original owner has done, some of which you'll see in the pic.....from memory here's what's been added to the standard Mid: - Front universals (a la Turbo Mid) - Turnbuckles - they're silver so maybe aftermarket? - No mechanical esc here, it arrived with a shiny Futaba MC-112B and original RX, like it's just out of the box - and the Attack-R TX too....already have one of these ![]() - The front and rear sway bars have also been changed. - It has modified battery mounts although with the spares are 4 brand new originals. It came with a load of new spares as you can see in the pic, a brand new spur gear, lots of mint shiny Optima Mid goodies ![]() ![]() ![]() So, my question is, as it has the front universals already and turnbuckles.....do I buy some shock towers, a chassis and a couple of other bits and make it a Turbo Optima Mid or do I just restore it as a Standard Optima Mid? I have 2 Marwan shells, I plan to do one as a Turbo and one as a normal Mid. Sorry for the poor smartphone photos. Cheers, let the fun commence. Dan ![]() |
