Grant Williams took the 4WD class at this years Belgian GP with his Nosram powered Schumacher CAT SX3.
Qualifying was shared between Kevin Lee and his Kyosho Lazer taking two rounds - and Grant taking two, to go on equal points. Grant however was the one to sit at the front of the grid for the finals, by virtue of his faster winning time.
Rain changed each round and made the finals ever more exciting. Grant Williams took the opening final before Kevin Lee fought back to take the second. By the third final it was only these two drivers who could still take the win and thus followed a world-class battle between the two drivers as they fought hard and changed positions several times. The inevitable collision occured between the two and Kev was on his roof with a fast approaching Phil Sleigh about to join the melee. Grant waited but Kev gave the nod that it was all fair and he was away just as Phil tucked in behind.
Phil gave it all he had but Grant held onto the lead and took the victory and this years 4WD title in the Belgian GP.
Congratulations to Wouter and Grant on their wins and thanks to all the organisers for making this a great event. We have a big report about to go online that hopefully captures a small part of this fantastic annual race meeting. Stay tuned to see the report coming soon. And thanks to our sponsors for this event - Schumacher Racing, for helping with our costs to attend this event.
