Default Simple fan mounting on ESC question

Hi guys

Another question about new stuff - having retunred to racing after 20 yrs the fans thatsit on ESCs is a completely new concept to me. I therefore wondered which way I want to mount it.

The options I see it are:

1) mount the fan so that the hot air is pulled away from the heat sink i.e. the air is blown up from the ESC. This draws colder air directly across the heat sink and then the "exhaust" hot air is removed away

2) mount the fan to blow colder air direclty onto the heat sink and then the exhaust hot air comes out the sides of the ESC heating up the components around it

A relatively simple question but I wondered what the genral consensus was?

Thanks
