Shooting RCs with DSLR: What lens(es)?

Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of selecting (and buying) a new DSLR. One of the things I'll do with it is shoot pictures and video footage of RC cars (of course).

I've shot one time now at a track event - I do recall using my 70-200mm lens, but I don't know in what part of the range I was using it. Anyone who has suggestions on what lenses are handy for this sort of job? I'll make sure I get a body with sharp senses (fast AF ans such), so that part should be no problem!
