Default Mini 8 Rally/drifter

As some of you will know, every year at WORM we run a summer series for micros that have been converted to WRC rally cars.

This usually takes the form of a Shark chassis with a Phat bodies "Banzai Mini" body mounted on top, and a set of foam tyres with MB inner tube "donuts" stretched over to give a kind of drifty/rally car feel to the driving.

We run each race as a specific rally, and try to build a track and surface to match the type of rally that the country runs.

So Rally Sweden would be run on a fully polished floor to give a very slippy feel as if running on snow

Rally Germany would have carpet laid down on a flat track to simulate a grippy type of rally.

Last night we ran "The Monte Carlo Rally" so was mostly polished floor with a few table ramps to simulate the Italian Alps you get the picture

Anyway .... up until now we have only ever used the Sharks as drifters, but I'm a lazy sod sometimes and decided it would be easier to mount my Mini body on my Losi Mini8 cos all my radio gear was already installed.

All I had to do was make up a couple of body mounts front and back with a couple of pieces of plastic sheet, I used some polypropylene I had laying around.

The Mini 8 is a little wider than the Shark so the tyres/wheels do "poke" a little but I like the look.

Have a look at the pics and let me know what you think

Oh and BTW, the Mini 8 makes an awesome drifter !!
