Default Old SV new idler gears, bad fit?

Hello all,

I own a first generation Cougar SV.
I received the new plastic transmission casings from
Schumacher after the first ones turned out to be crap.
Excellent service from Shuey by the way.
Now recently it was time to replace the idlers.
I got a note from my supplier that there were new items
then the ones I ordered from my manual.
The idler with shaft is now a single piece CNC alu version.
And the other idler was alu and is now plastic.
Fine by me, after I received them I bolted them right in
according to the included instructions and .,......... A terrible
tight spot. i mean really really bad.
I cleaned everything before I started the assembly, I checked the bearings etc etc.
Can anyone tell me how this went wrong?

Greetings

Hans
