Default 22 rear hub carrier and ball stud common problem?

Has anyone noticed that the standard rear ball studs in the hub carrier have a nasty tendency to snap leaving the thread inside the carrer. This has happened twice, once to the left and once to the right. I bought some titanium ball studs and fitted it to one side and that side was fine but the other one broke again.

It is likely to be me being a crap driver. But, anyways I need to streghten the rear carrer ball studs area. I would prefer the ball cup just to pop off!!!

Has anyone had a ballstud snap in the hub carrier?
Have people been able to get the snapped thread out?
Is titanium the only way to go?
Or should I also look at metal rear carriers? (but if it snaps in the rear carrier I will be livid at £33.99 as opposed to a fiver for plastic version)
Should I replace the ballcups so they 'flex' more or pop off rather then snapping the ball stud

Advice pretty please

Thanks
