Spektrum bind port question

I've just fitted a sr3500 micro rx with a Savox 1258tg servo and the servo draws so much power from the rx it shuts down after three turns.

I have throttle, steering auxiliary and bind ports

Obviously I'm going to need a power cap, but can I put the spektrum cap in the bind port and the transponder in the auxiliary port?

Or will I need to put the PT in the bind and cap in the auxiliary port?
