BL motor setup

There are so many options just for tuning your motor.

-ESC punch
-ESC timing
-Mechanical timing
-Kv or motor wind
-Final drive ratio
-Batteries

Does anyone have any idea where to start to set it up for a particular track? Would be great to get this down for once and for all.
