Default BossCat Advice

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice or point in the right direction.

It has been a while since I last had a run with my BossCat (probably back in 95 or 96) but my nephew is just getting in to 1/10th scale and I wanted something to run with him, so I dug out the old bosscat (well as the box tells me it`s a bosscat sport 94). And this shows how long it has been for me as I cant belive the bosscat is a vintage ride!

I think I`m going to be alright striping this down and rebuilding it, as that hasn`t changed much and I still have the manual! Plus I found after a bit of research (mainly on this site) you can still get some parts and replica bodies. So the main mechanical bit is looking ok with me.

However the help I need is with the electronics side of things, this has changed a bit in few (well many) years I have been away! My limited memory remembers 7.2v battery packs and simple electronic speed controllers (or the servo driven ones!) and thats about it.

As I have found out there are a few more options from the batteries (nimh, lipo) and motors (brushed and brushless) and also the ESC. These options and choices seem to go on and on. Now this is my problem, I not sure what to go for, what battery type what motor and esc.

Now the question is could my old bosscat take a modern brushless setup? or will it destroy it?

Also as I don`t have a giant budget could someone recommend as setup that will give the bosscat a bit of grunt and make the old cat run again.

Thanks for any help with this, as I`ve forgotten everything I once new any help will be a great help

Cheers

Andy
